Neighbours pay tribute to stabbing victim

NEIGHBOURS stunned by the fatal stabbing of a woman have laid flowers and candles in her memory.

Lyndsay Smith, 42, was stabbed to death at her home in Enfield Island Village just after midnight in the early hours of Saturday morning

Bouquets were laid at the scene paying tribute to the woman that one neighbour described as “a lovely woman.”

The man, who asked not to be named said: “I knew her to say hello to and pass the time of day. She was always out walking her dog. It’s shocking, absolutely horrible, what has happened.”

Forensics officers were gathering evidence at the crime scene on Monday morning and police were stationed outside the house where she was stabbed on Ostell Crescent.

Gavin Wilson, 41, of the same address, was arrested at the scene and has, today, been charged with her murder. He is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Police who have launched a murder investigation, urged anyone with information to call the incident room on 0208 345 3734 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
