HENDON have secured the services of a further nine players for the coming season as manager Gary McCann continues to put together a squad which he hopes will be capable of making an impact in the Bostik League Premier Division.
Having only just avoided relegation last time around, the long-serving boss managed to agree a budget with the board which enabled the Greens to sign a number of players on contract.
They did just this earlier in the summer, securing the services of Tom Lovelock, Casey Maclaren, Arthur Lee, Matt Ball, Sam Murphy, the returning Niko Muir and new arrivals Zak Joseph and Ashley Nathaniel-George.
And, with the players having started pre-season training, many other members of last season’s squad have now signed forms with the club – including Geo Craig, who made three appearances on loan during the last campaign and has joined permanently after being released by Luton Town.
Talented young midfielder Keagan Cole, long-serving utility man Dave Diedhiou, strikers Kezie Ibe and Reis Stanislaus, wide man Andre da Costa and defender Luke Tingey have also signed, along with under-18 graduate Malachy McGovern and Dave Smalley – who will combine his role as goalkeeper coach with being the back-up to first-choice keeper Lovelock.
Meanwhile, former Edgware Town manager Fabio Valenti has joined Hendon’s coaching team to replace Jason Dale, who left the club following the end of last season.
Hendon begin their pre-season fixtures by hosting Hanwell Town on Tuesday (7.30pm). Admission is free.
