Motorcyclist’s final road trip in sidecar hearse

Wednesday, 08 April 2009

A MOTORCYCLE hearse took a keen biker on his final road trip.
John Straker, 73, of Arlington Crescent, Waltham Cross, had owned classic bikes throughout his life, and made his final journey to Enfield Crematorium in Great Cambridge Road last Tuesday in a sidecar hearse attached to a vintage Triumph.
Matthew Tidball, of English Family Funeral Directors, in Hertford Road, Enfield Highway, said: “I’ve never seen a motorcycle hearse before, I think it’s the first time this has been done in Enfield, as it has come from a company in Devon.
“The family thought it would be a fitting tribute to Mr Straker.”
